MISSION: The Children’s Pastor has the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of ministry to children and their families from birth through fifth grade.
PURPOSE: To serve the church by ensuring coordination and continuity of the spiritual growth of children and their families from birth to fifth grade. To build and oversee a team that will care for, support, empower and nurture families in the church; and ensure environments are created that will bring people together as a body in a way that enables authentic, biblical community to take place.

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the preferred qualifications are:
Bachelor of Arts Degree from a Bible College or Seminary
Experience working with children in a church environment for 2 years
Five years full-time leadership experience
Lives a life consistent with the commandments and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Spends time in prayer and study of God’s Word on a daily basis.
Is involved in personal discipleship, either small group or one-on-one.
Stays current with ministry trends by listening to tapes, reading books, periodicals and attending approved conferences.
Leads an evangelistic lifestyle.
Is engaged in consistent memorization of Scripture.
Spends adequate time with spouse and children each week.
Maintains adequate physical and mental health for performing job functions.
Will become a member of Maryland Community Church within a year of employment.
