Full time
City Church Student Ministry currently includes approximately 50-60 regularly attending students from sixth grade through college. Due to the level of destruction on our campus from Hurricane Michael in October of 2018, our students are currently meeting only once a week for worship and small group time. As Student Pastor, we are looking for someone who is not just passionate about teaching, but also about building relationships with our students. You will need to be creative and flexible with your ministry as our community recovers. In your first year on the job, building relationships with existing families and encouraging students to bring new friends will be key. You’ll need to grow our existing youth program to include more regular opportunities for our students to connect and develop a plan for how student ministry will be done at our church in the future. We hope you’ll spend a good amount of time outside of the office engaging students where they’re at. You’ll need to hit the ground running building relationships, but also be patient in learning our church culture and understanding the impact our students are still feeling from Hurricane Michael. We have a solid group of established volunteers that will be an excellent resource for your ministry. There is a great opportunity to try new things, experiment, and determine what works best as you move forward. Additional Responsibilities include: • Identify, involve, and train a volunteer team that is engaged in the vision of City Church. • Plan and execute weekly student services, small groups and/or other activities. • Plan retreats, camps, mission opportunities and other activities that will cultivate relationships and help students grow in their faith. • Create and manage the Student Ministry annual calendar. • Develop an annual budget for Student Ministry and manage spending of said budget. • Develop, plan, and execute fundraiser opportunities to supplement Student Ministry activities. • Be an active presence in local schools and their activities.
