FUMC Brownwood is a vibrant and growing congregation in the rural hub of Brownwood, TX in the center of Texas.  Each Sunday the church averages more than 300 in worship between the 3 worship opportunities and Children's ministry and has shown continuous growth.  Sunday Middle-School and Wednesday Senior-High Ministries combined average more than 70 with some weeks seeing the opportunity to lead close to 100 youth.  The mission of the church is to make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the tranformation of the world by helping others to know, love, and serve God.  The members of FUMC are known as some of the key volunteers and servants in the community - serving at local food pantries, Meals on Wheels, hospital volunteer work, and many other local mission opportunities.  The church is involved in missions both locally and globally haveing traveled to Kenya for medical missions and conscrated young adults into the mission field around the world.  The growing Staff of 15 full and part time servants work together to help those with in the church and all we meet in the community and beyond to know, love, and serve God.  We truly have been placed as a light to the nations, so that we may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.  (Acts 13:47)

First United Methodist Church of Brownwood, TX is seeking a   Full-Time Director of Youth Ministries   to lead an active and growing ministry to Middle School and Senior High Youth beginning June 2019.  Applicants should have training in the field of Youth Ministry and experience that shows fruits of this ministry.  It is expected that the applicant have a minimum of a Bachelor Degree and 3 years post-High School experience or training as a youth director.  The Director of Youth Ministries is responsible for directing the overall Christian education and activities ministry of grades seven through twelve to promote evangelism and discipleship by planning, promoting, coordinating, conducting and evaluating the youth activities of the church in a team environment.  Duties include providing a trusting and accepting environment for youth to become committed followers of Jesus Christ, acting as a liaison for the youth program with other church staff, various church committees, and other public and private entities; oversite and management of a $15,900 Youth Budget as well as substantial special offerings for youth ministries that often exceed the stated budget; and development of safe and supportive fellowship programs and spiritual growth opportunities for the youth. The youth ministry at FUMC Brownwood is a relationship focused small group ministry with consistent attendance at or above 70 on a weekly basis.  The youth are accustomed to "going deep" during the youth sermons and worship gatherings as well as during the small group break-outs.  The Director of Youth Ministries is assisted by a part-time paid Youth Assistant as well as volunteer adults and students from Howard Payne University who assist as Small Group Leaders for High School Youth.  The High School youth serve as SGL's for the Middle School, and both the Middle School and Senior High students serve as leaders for the Children's Ministry.  Faith development through building relationships with one another, leading others, and most importantly growing in relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary focus of this ministry.
