Full time Youth/Student Pastor/ Director

Job Description

The student ministry at HOPE Church is committed to reaching middle school and high school students that live in the greater Richmond area.  In our relentless pursuit of a strategy that will continue to reach more and more students for Jesus, we are looking for someone to help us engage a generation of students living in a post-Christian culture. We are currently seeking a full-time team member who will oversee all aspects of programming and outreach environments for high school students. The High School Director (Programming and Outreach) should be (1) passionate about creating experiences that connect with unchurched, disengaged students, just as much as students that are Christ followers who have grown up in the church, (2) extraordinarily innovative, (3) relentless in the pursuit of excellence, (4) highly relational, and (5) collaborative. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful programming, be a student of popular culture, possess a strong desire to work in a team environment, with an entrepreneurial spirit at the core of their work ethic. In essence, this individual will be a maximizer, a forward-thinker, a developer, an organizer, an inspirer, and an exceedingly skilled communicator.  If you are ready to dream big, innovate and impact an entire city, then this might be the team for you. HOPE is located in beautiful Richmond, Virginia. Richmond is the state’s capital with a population of a quarter of a million people -- the fourth largest population base in the state. While certainly boasting a rich historical legacy, modern Richmond is proud of its self-proclaimed craft beer revolution, food revolution, fashion revolution, and arts revolution. Both Travel + Leisure and National Geographic have highlighted Richmond as a top place to visit and eat. Families enjoy access to a variety of fun activities, including festivals, parks, museums, music venues, and theme parks. While there are no professional sports teams in the area, Richmond does host several minor league teams. Fans of collegiate sports can enjoy following the University of Richmond or Virginia Commonwealth University. Hope Church is indeed a good place to find life. Our vision is to be a catalytic movement offering the gospel to as many people as possible as creatively as necessary. Hope seeks to support and champion families, and they view their student and children’s ministries as their primary sources of growth. Hope welcomes around 2,000 adults each Sunday, with five services at two different locations. We also serve an additional 250 students and 400 children each week. The church has a young, healthy, and vibrant culture. We put immense energy and effort into building relationships and laboring side-by-side with young people, believing that more is “caught than taught.” Interested candidates should apply at http://hopecentral.com/employment/ Do not apply through the NextGen Staff Solutions website. In addition, please send a recent photo, any available work samples (services you’ve produced, teaching videos, demo reels, website, etc), and any other helpful or pertinent materials to students@hopecentral.com
