Purpose : To develop and oversee the strategy of TMH Kids (birth – 5th grade) across all campuses of The Meeting House. To hold and communicate a firm understanding and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of The Meeting House by leading and teaching others. To develop volunteers and partner with parents to nurture and equip children to become lifelong followers of Jesus. Key Responsibilities: Lead . Take ownership of TMH “central services” children’s ministry (including strategic planning, budgeting, Orange Curriculum , etc.), while you personally lead TMH Kids volunteer teams at Carlisle. Supervise the TMH Kids ministry assistant (staff member) and work at the direction of the Family Life Pastor to provide leadership for the Dillsburg Campus Family Life Pastor and others as the organization grows. Oversee the strategic relationships with on-site preschools at TMH campuses. Relate . Make children’s ministry fun and approachable for “regular attenders” and a growing number of new guests each week. Leverage resources to present Biblical content for children and parents in a way that is practical and aligned with the TMH goal of being a church that unchurched people want to attend. Create a safe and inviting ministry environment for children and volunteers who represent the beauties and complexities of a multi-cultural, socio-economically and politically diverse world. Develop and disciple . Equip and enable other adults to share in the responsibilities and joys of children’s ministry. Invest in leaders’ recruitment and training for the benefit of the individual kids they serve, as well as for the long-term sustainability and growth of the ministry team. Collaborate . Work with the Family Life team across campuses and with colleagues at the Carlisle campus. Seek connections for TMH Kids ministry with other ministries of TMH, including service opportunities, and throughout the Cumberland Valley. Innovate . Continuously develop and implement systems that support TMH and Family Life departmental goals. Replicate great ideas, and don’t be afraid to try new ones for the sake of engaging children and families even better. Creatively teach Bible-based truths, lead honest discussions, play crazy games, and inspire others to join the fun. Demonstrate a personal commitment to the core values of The Meeting House .
